Magazine Placard Pull Tab Announcement – What You Need to Know

Brøthers,

This is a post I really didn’t want to write, but it’s important.

After inspecting some leftover Vakarians and receiving a couple of emails from Brøthers in the field, I’ve uncovered an issue with the Magazine Placard Pull Tabs—one that causes them to break immediately. The problem? The shock cord wasn’t sewn in all the way, so it pulls out under tension.

The Good, The Bad, and The Fix

Here’s the good news: even if this happens, the tab still functions. You can tie a knot from the loose piece to the other cord or remove the loose cord completely, and it will still be 100% operational. If nothing else, I guess that proves the redundancy of the design.

But let’s be real—field fixes aside, this is not acceptable.

Who’s Affected?

Right now, it looks like the Ranger Green tabs are the ones predominantly affected. If you’re running Coyote, check yours too.

The key thing to note is this: if your pull tab doesn’t fail immediately, then you’re in the clear. This issue presents itself right away, so if yours is holding up, it will continue to do so.

Why This Happened

This is not a design flaw. The Vakarian was built with modularity and durability in mind.

  • Nothing about it is proprietary—if you have other pull tabs, they’ll work.
  • Each component is separate, so if something were to fail, it’s easily replaceable.

I don’t know how widespread this defect is—the overwhelming majority of tabs I checked were not affected. But when it comes to production at scale, one bad unit means a bad lot. That’s unacceptable.

What’s Being Done?

As soon as I confirmed the issue, I got in touch with my production team. They’re already working on new pull tabs without this defect, and I should have them in a few weeks.

If You’re Affected, Here’s What to Do

If you’ve noticed this issue on your tabs, email me.

I’ll log it, prep a premade envelope, and the second the replacements are in, I’ll send them out.

The Brøther Guarantee

I stand behind my gear. While I do have an official warranty, every single piece that carries the RÈBÈL’s RÄIDÈRs name comes with a guarantee—not just that it will work, but that you will be taken care of. That’s what it means to be a Brøther.

I hate that this happened. It shouldn’t have. But under any circumstance, it will be made right.

Final Thoughts

I appreciate your support, your trust, and the fact that you believe in what I’m building. If you have any issues, reach out—I’ve got you.
